It's 7:20, and we are both up enjoying a coffee, huddled under blankets to keep warm and cozy. I am skipping kayaking because I have breakfast in Bemus at 8:00, and Evie has to leave for her kindergarten class at 9:30. It's just after 9:00 and I just returned from breakfast in Bemus and will head off to Lakewood for yoga in a half hour.

Thursday Afternoon |
Wednesday was different. I tried to get in a paddle but after 25 minutes gave up because of the winds and waves, making it difficult to make much progress. So I joined Evie, listening to Michael Smerconish and enjoying a second cup of coffee as we finished the blog and I had breakfast. I wanted to get a couple of things done in Jamestown, so I left around 10:30 and stopped first at Ryders Cup, where I had coffee with both Neal and Bob, two regulars. Next, I stopped at the Jamestown awning to see if they could put a new window in our canvas curtain. They can and will pick it up and bring it back once they are done. Then, I drove to the address for Kinetic/Windstream Internet because I am considering them as an alternative internet provider to Spectrum. Unfortunately, the office does not exist even though it's listed on the Internet. So I called them, and the gal didn't seem to have any idea of why they don't have an office in Jamestown. In fact, she had no idea where it was. So I left and stopped at Farm Fresh Foods and picked up some sourdough donuts for Evie. I then stopped at Runnings and picked up a few things I don't need, socks, and work gloves. Then, I hit Aldis and left with lamb chops and a rack of lamb. Yum. Finally, I stopped at Evans and left with three boxes of Black Box wine, our current favorite. And that was it.
I returned home just as Evie was leaving to do some shopping and get her hair done at Jaret's. For lunch, I ate the leftover sub from Tuesday and a bowl of Evie's veggie soup. After watching my show, I read some, napped briefly. I wanted to get in a walk so instead of driving somewhere, I walked around the Chautauqua Campground, empty of residents this time of the year. It took me 40 minutes, and my legs were tired by the time I returned. I remember that back in the 1980s, Evie used to run the circuit most weekends. When I returned home, Evie was driving in so I helped unload the car and let her put stuff away.

We enjoyed a glass of Black Box wine and listened to the news, and the sun illuminated both Long Point and Tom's Point, emphasizing their colors. Dinner was an Evie favorite: steaks, mushrooms, French fries, and a salad. We loved it, of course, and the rest of the evening was our usual viewing, All Saints until Evie went to bed, then Spooks until I went up to bed.
