It's 6:40 as I start this on a sunny, 57º morning. The lake looks calm, and a couple of fishermen are out already. It's 8:15, and I kayaked down to Booty Bay and back. Unlike yesterday, when I photographed three or four herons, I saw none today. I was out for an hour and only saw turkey vultures, not a favorite.
Yesterday was one of those days. I was tired from the get-go and didn't feel like doing much. I made myself go for a paddle, and I felt somewhat better when I got back. I finished up the blog, had breakfast, and actually went back upstairs and read on my bed. Evie is still fighting her cough so she wasn't up for doing much either. Around 10:30, I decided to get something done and volunteered to go shopping at Wegmans. Evie had already made up the list and needed a prescription, an antibiotic, which her doctor had just ordered. Mondays are surprisingly crowded, and I had to wait in a line five deep for prescriptions. I picked up a sub for lunch and filled my cart with necessities, like coffee and rice, and fortunately, avoided a heavy rainstorm both going and returning.
That was it for the day for me. I had chicken soup and a quarter of my hoagie for lunch and watched a show. And I finished my book, Act One, and napped, awakened by a heavy rain. We probably received an inch in 15 minutes, and then the sun came out briefly. For dinner, Evie had pulled a couple of thighs out of the freezer and made up a dish of spinach, artichoke hearts, chicken and pasta before we had our glass of wine and listened to the news. Of course, Trump ignored the law(again), sending troops to California even though the Governor did not ask for them (the law) and did not want them. Dinner was delicious and I had two helpings. We watched a couple more episodes of The Resident, mostly because we have nothing else to watch. Evie went to bed early because she hopes to go to school today, and I finished the night with my Series, Blue Murder, and began another one on Max.
