5:22

It's just 8:00, and Mitchell, my grandson, just flew in from LA on the redeye, making thirteen of us for the next few days. I was up at 6:30 and paddled for forty-five minutes, on a beautiful, sunny, blue sky, calm lake morning. And for the first time, I saw a guy fly by on an electric hydrofoil.

Yesterday was a busy day; at least we were kept busy by Rhys, our year-old great-grandson. I was up early as usual and got in a good 50-minute paddle, returning to a full house. I had breakfast, finished the blog, and then we made plans for the day. Nick, Aundraya, and I decided to go for a walk, so we drove over to Long Point and walked through the woods and out to the point for 70 minutes. It was a perfect day for the walk, the woods green and rich, the temperature in the mid-60s.

Relaxing

When we returned, it was lunchtime, so everyone was having something different: sandwiches, kuru falsuye, cauliflower soup, leftover ziti, or something more healthy, like yogurt. It's great to have choices. We either sat out in the yard, on the dock sunning, or on the porch while Rhys napped. I, of course, napped briefly.

Around 3:00, ten of us took a boat ride down to Whitney Bay and back, and Rhys was the center of attention, loving his first boat ride. When we returned, we gathered in the yard, playing bean bag and enjoying various libations, usually concocted by our granddaughters.

Around 6:00, Tom and I grilled lamb koftes for our dinner, Iskender kebabs, kofte on pita, covered with tomato sauce and a dollop of yogurt. We were able to eat outside, and everyone loved dinner, along with a great salad.

Dinner

The girls did up the dishes so their moms could relax, and all of us sat in the living room talking, having dessert, the peach/blueberry crisp, until 9:30 when everyone, tired from the day, went up to bed. I joined them around 10:00, another good day.
