Back To The Lake, Again

6:00 In Virginia

It's early, 6:00, but this morning, unlike Sunday when I had to wait a couple of hours for Drew to get up, the coffee was ready to brew but just one cup. Drew had to drive to Safeway and pick up more coffee, alas, for Evie and him. It's now 6:40, the coffee is brewing and both Drew and Evie are up. It's overcast here in Bristow, 67º, and raining supposedly in Chautauqua.

Once we were all caffeinated up, Drew and I got busy, putting the yard back together after the party. It was mostly gathering the empties, and some trash, and moving all the outdoor furniture back in place.  While we were outside, the girls were inside looking for Hayden's phone which she seemed to have misplaced last night but in the house. After all of us helped, looking in under cushions, on the floor, in her bedroom, her father finally found it on her closet floor. We actually has things cleaned up and put together fairly quickly so that we could take it easy after a fun night.

Enjoying Beers At Cedar Run Brewery

None of us were that hungry so we had a light breakfast but by 1:00, we decided to drive to Cedar Run Brewery in Nokesville, about a 20-minute drive. Jill checked and they also had a Moroccan food truck. We ordered our beers, sat on their covered patio, and ordered our lamb gyros and fries. Unfortunately, a guy began to play and sing so loud that he literally drove three or four tables outside so they could talk and we were among them, It was hot out in their yard among the Christmas trees, 88º but better than listening to him. Our sandwiches were great, however, worth the drive as was the beer,

The Result Of Drinking Beers In The Afternoon

We returned around 3:00 and drinking beer in the afternoon is rarely a good idea and as a result, a few of us took long naps, including me. Jill and Hayden were the champs, not getting up until 5:30. We then sat out on their screened-in porch and watched the Canadian Open, with its thrilling ending where Canadian Nick Taylor holed in a 69-foot putt to win. It was fun to watch the excitement of the fans, as a Canadian won for the first time in 60 years.

Ready To Enjoy Another Graduation Party

We had some leftovers from the party but decided pizza sounded good so we ordered from Domino and it was a good choice, as we sat out on the porch talking about the fun party, enjoying pizza and salad until almost 9:00. We then cleaned up the house and all of us were headed to bed by 9:45 except for Halle, still out at a graduation party.
