Fog And Light Snow

6:35
7:30
It's 6:45, a dusting of snow would be an exaggeration as the temperatures have dropped and snow is expected on and off this morning, perhaps a couple of inches.  And as I looked ahead, it looks like snow on and off for the next week though not enough to bring out the snowmobiles or cross country skis.

Yesterday morning's sunrise was the highlight of the day.  By the time I headed to yoga, the sky had clouded up and it was mostly an overcast  day.  Yoga was crowded, twenty of us stuffed in our studio, suggesting many are realizing yoga is a good way to start the day.  There are three or four of us who are regulars, come every weekday, the rest occasionally.  It was a relief to come straight home, no car maintenance, no shopping, even no coffee.

When I got home, Evie was packing up a couple pounds of applewood bacon in smaller portions, for our breakfast on Sundays. Because of this, she made me some BLT's for lunch, to go along with another bowl of lentil soup.  Nothing like a juicy BLT on wheat bread, semi healthy I suppose.

Evie had a follow up doctor's appointment in Jamestown.  And much like mine on Wednesday, it was a waste.  They went over what Evie already knew and sent her on her way.  And even though we paid a specialist fee, she saw a PA.  That seems to be happening quite often around here.  We then drove to Acme Appliance, a local dealer, in Falconer, to check out their washer/dryer combos.  We talked with the salesman for a good half hour, liked him and the machines enough to buy two LG machines at what we hope is a good price.  Probably not.  So this morning, at 9:30, guys will arrive to take our old machines away and hook up two new ones.

After dropping a sizable amount of cold cash on our combo, we needed therapy.  So first we stopped at Farm Fresh (local grocery store) and bought a custard filled donut, a blueberry muffin, and an apple fritter, to assuage our depression.  On the way home, I had the bright idea of stopping at the Rod and Gun for a beer, a sure fire panacea and even though it was 3:30, the bar was already open.  So we sat around watching the Duke/Louisville basketball game, having a couple of beers, gambling, fitting right in with the rest of the early bird drinkers like us.

We got home around 6:00 and neither of us felt like dinner.  Donuts and beer are not exactly complimentary.  So we took it easy, reading or watching TV until we started to get somewhat hungry.  Evie heated up the leftover pizza, made a salad and we watched a new Danish series on DVD called THE BRIDGE.   We watched three episodes which took us through the evening, which I finished with a piece of raspberry pie a la mode.  I went up to be with a stomachache for some reason!  Could it have been the donut, beer, pretzels, pizza, and pie a la mode. Probably not. It was a good day.
