More Gray Skies

Look Familiar?

Up at 6:25, half light, thirty three degrees but a decent day I hope.  It is quite windy, however, as the flag flies wildly from the northerly wind.  It will be cold, high in the mid thirties but partly cloudy so we may see the sun.

Yesterday was another quiet day.  We did walk the CI around 11:00 and it felt good to get outside and feel the brisk air, some wind, but it was not uncomfortable.  The leaves have all fallen in the CI and it's extraordinary how neat and tidy the yards look, as the landscaping firms have been busy.  What a contrast to a walk in the woods, where nature's unkempt floor is the rule.  We do have this need to tidy up, to clean the leaves off the lawn, rake them out of the flower beds, establish some order, not to last however.

That was it for the day, other than watching some football and, of course, the often depressing political news, as the race tends to change by the hour, if you keep up with things.  I guess that's how the networks keep the political junkies glued to the tube.  I can hardly stand to watch a shill from either side asked a question as they inevitable lie, give you the party line, and never tell you what they actually think or feel.  I cannot wait till Wednesday when it's over; it might even be preferable, having it over, even if it means a Romney win.  I cannot believe I said that.  But I also know that Nate Silver, the NYTimes data guru put Obama odds of winning at 86% this morning using all the polls.  He called 49/50 states correctly back in 2008 so I have faith in his conclusions.

We had an easy dinner, as Evie had put together an Indian cauliflower and sweet potato soup, so we had a couple of Sahlen hot dogs with the soup and we were happy.  We watched some more football, the exciting ending of the Pittsburgh win and later, The Good Wife, before going to bed.
