It look like a nice day. most of the rain has passed by Darien.   It is chilly, 41 degrees, not quite as cold as Lake Chautauqua, which has a freeze alert coming on tonight.  Everyone is home today, kids as well as Rami and Beth, not sure what we will do, perhaps just enjoy the day of doing nothing.

Yesterday was a strange Sunday, with Beth and Rami in NYC for most of the day, Mitch off with his buddies at a skate boarding event they organized, and Tyler at a friend's house till about noon.  So early, Marisa and I went to the local bagel shop, Upper Crust Bakery, which is always crowded on weekends, with Dad's and their kids, waiting in line for a dozen.  For a small bakery, this place does amazing business.  We came home, slathered the bagels with creme cheese and enjoyed the morning, not doing much.  About 11:00, we went to our church, Stew Leonard's Grocery, in Norwalk, to pick up something for dinner and it looked like half of Norwalk had the same idea.  The parking lot was filled, the store aisles, one way of course, packed with people like us, buying goodies for Sunday football or dinner.  It's like a pilgrimage for us, to go to this store, pick up some of their specialities, somewhat like Fairways but an older store, overflowing with goods and people, unlike Fairway.  We finished with an ice cream...if you spend enough, you get a free soft serve ice cream cone.  Marisa got pumpkin in a cup with sprinkles, a healthy Sunday breakfast.

It rained off and on most of the afternoon, so we stayed in, took Cody for a walk a couple of times, picked up Mitch and his buddies, and Beth and Rami returned home from the city about 4:00.  Evie made her lemon chicken for dinner, with rice, broccoli and spaghetti squash.  For dessert, we had scones and muffins from a New York bakery, the Clinton Street Baking Company.  Beth and Rami went there for breakfast in time for the first sitting.  When they left, a huge line of people went out the door and out to the street.  We watched another Hitchcock film with Tyler, this time one of my all time favorites, To Catch A Thief. I remember watching this when I was a teen, and the French Rivera seemed so exotic, so sun drenched, that I wanted to go there, which I did, ten years later.  We went to bed around 11:00, to rain and cold air, coming in the window.  Fall is quickly disappearing.
