Sunny and Twenty Two degrees on the Lake

Rosy Fingered Dawn
Sun rise about 7:50
Woke at 4:00 but went back to sleep until about 7:20, which felt good, to sleep in a bit.  A beautiful clear rosy fingered dawn on the lake, very cold out, as the sun rose almost as far south as it's  going to get, a week from the winter solstice.  Still a bit of last Friday's snow covers the ground, patch work like, and when I walked down to the lake's edge, there was a thin covering of ice close to shore.  Lots of ducks still, mostly buffleheads and coots and strangely, I saw quite a few sea gulls flying off of Long Point which seems late for this time of year.

We went to the Seezurn House last night with Ron and Linda, as they are heading home today and we won't see them until January. They fly to California each Xmas, staying with Linda's sister who lives with her family in Palo Alto.  We exchanged gifts; we gave them a bowl from the Empty Bowl benefit, decorative spoons, and spice bowls,  and they gave us a basket of goodies from Pittsburgh.  The Seezurh had a decent crowd for a Monday, I had my burger, Evie her chicken sandwich, our usuals.

We were tired, were home by 9:15, watched The Good Wife, then went to bed.  It felt good to be in my own bed.

Looking Towards Tom's Point
No plans for the day, perhaps some food shopping if we feel up for it, most certainly a walk as it's going to warm up during the day, also the week, getting in the 40's, perhaps 50's by Thursday. Yuk.
