Saturday Night at the Mc Clures

7:05
7:46

The fourth amazingly beautiful morning in a row, a rosy fingered dawn, now fog rising above the hills over towards Bemus, the lake shimmery with sunlight, no wind, and 49 degrees, in short, the perfect morning once again.  I had a restless night, waking at 4:30 but able to get back to sleep about 5:30, slept till about 6:30.  I was tempted to get up but thought it was too early, too dark, and I would be too tired during the day.    I am looking forward to the day, taking in the boat would seem to be the only must do for today.

As you can see, we had another great evening at the Mc Clures, pupus, huli huli pork tenderloins, butternut squash, salad, and pumpkin dessert, all delicious, of course!  It was a nice evening, lots of stars, an almost full moon, so we sat outside, enjoying a fire, talking and laughing until 10:00.  They head back to Murraysville tomorrow, so we won't see them till early November.

We have five more days to enjoy the fall here at the lake, then we head East on Friday, as I mentioned, to Mac's in Vermont, Trout's in Maine, and Beth and Rami in CT.  I am starting to look forward to hitting the road again and the colors should be at their peak as we go.  I know some of the roads in VT are still under construction or out because of the terrible storms last month, as many roads were washed out, houses lost, land devastated.

We said good by to the Leonards, then took a nice walk through the CI about 9:30, again, a beautiful morning to walk, lots of yuppie families out as well, either with their dog or kids or both.  We came back, and Evie cut the lawn, while I took the boat off to Snug Harbor, where they will tune it up, power wash it, and winterize it for next season.  Then, we spent a good part of the afternoon on the dock reading, again little wind, close to 80 in the sun, and I am sure we both got sunburn.  We just got back from a long kayak ride over towards Bemus and back, just as the sun disappeared from our dock, hiding behind the tree line.  Now it's time to get cleaned up, sit down and relax, have a mannie, and talk over what a great four days of weather we have had.

EVIE SWAM TODAY!
