A Brilliant Sunday Morning Sun

6:22

7:33

It's 7:40 and four of us are up, although Drew and I were up by 6:15. I sat around with him drinking coffee until the sky and lake became too amazing to stay inside, so I went out, jumped in my kayak and was out for forty-five minutes.

Kayak Morning

Into The Sun

Saturday was another beautiful day and a busy, fun one for the six of us. Like today, Drew and I were up early, and I kayaked while we were waiting for the rest of the gang to get up. We had a big breakfast around 10:00: fried eggs, home fries, bagels, cream cheese, and jelly.  I then took the trash to the Transfer Station and left the gals to make decisions about our day. It ended up with the guys going shopping for goodies for this afternoon's tailgating in Buffalo and the game. They are leaving at 9:00 this morning, hope to have found a place to park and tailgate by noon. Ah Youth! On the way to Wegmans, we stopped for coffee at Ryder's Cup. As usual, Wegmans was crowded, but we were able to get in and out in half an hour.

The Gals At The Big Inlet

The Guys, Also

We were home by 1:30, in time to relax before driving off to Mayville for beers at the Big Inlet Brewery. It was not very crowded at 2:00, so we easily found a table and ordered a couple of baskets of French Fries from the food truck, our lunch. We stayed until 3:45 and stopped to get gas and pick up some drinks for today's tailgating.

Prepping Diner

When we got home, our new TV stand had arrived, compliments of Amazon, and it took a good half hour or more to set it up and attach the TV, so we now have a TV on wheels sitting in our living room. We sat around drinking wine or beer, watching some college football, and talking until it was time for dinner. So at 6:45, the three guys went outside and grilled three pounds of lamb/beef spiced kofte. Evie served it over toasted pita bread, topped with tomato sauce, and we love to top it with Greek yogurt. It's our family's favorite dinner, and to our surprise, we basically ate all of the koftes. We watched the World Series until 9:30 and went to bed, hoping Toronto would win. They didn't, alas.
