Waiting For The Fog To Lift

It's 7:15, I have my coffee, and the fog is so dense that I cannot see much beyond the dock. So all I can do is wait for the fog to dissipate so I can paddle. It's 51º and looks like it should be another fine day. It's 8:10 and the fog is only getting worse. Well, I finally got out at 9:00 and kayaked for 35 minutes, down to Sandy Bottom and back. What a beautiful morning.

Heron In The Shade Of A Dock

Yesterday began with a quick, half hour paddle before I drove over to Bemus for breakfast at 8:00 with the boys. For the first time in a month, all three of us made it and we caught up on travels and grandkids as usual. After breakfast, I was home by 9:15, finished up the blog and was on my way to yoga by 9:35. Class on Thursdays is always crowded so once again, I had to put my mat down in the front of the room. It's been a week since I last went to class so it felt good to get back in the groove. We had no need for me to shop so I came straight home and Evie was busy putting together our dinner, stuffed mushrooms.

I took it easy, reading until 1:00, when I had my lunch, which consisted of leftover pasta with mushrooms and Italian sausage, and then watched my series. Neither of us did much the rest of the afternoon. I briefly napped and read, and Evie spent most of the afternoon reading in the side yard, enjoying her leisure time and the amazing September weather. We sat on the front porch for a good hour, with nachos and a glass of wine and for once, we didn't listen to the news. The lake and neighborhood were quiet, the sun was out, the sky was blue, and we loved just being there. By 6:45, Evie had the stuffed portable mushrooms with spinach, tomatoes, and cheese, corn, and salad ready and we feasted on them and watched another couple of episodes of All Saints, a medical series about nurses in an Australian hospital and we are enjoying it more and more. Evie went up to bed around 8:45, and I watched some of the Packers/Redskins game and finished the night with another episode of Spooks.
