A Rainy Lake Day

I woke at 7:00, came downstairs to drizzle, and now a steady rain. It's 50º out and rain is forecast for the rest of the day. It looks like no paddling this morning, just two or three cups of coffee while I browse the newspapers and write my blog. 

Friday was an uneventful day, as neither of us had yoga or school. So I got in a good paddle to start my day and came home around 9:00 to finish the blog and have breakfast. Evie had plans for cleaning out a couple of closets and needed my help. So I did the easy part, taking out the jackets and stuff, and left her to deep clean her newest steamer acquisition steamer. Once that was done, I drove over to Chaurtauqua Brick to see Larry, the cabinet guy but he was on vacation until Tuesday. So I came home, stopping to fill the KIA up with cheap gas, according to Trump. Somehow, New York is unaware of it, so I paid the usual $3.39 a gallon. What an effing liar!

When I returned home, I got out the wheelbarrow to take the Adirondack chairs and tables out on the dock, and set up my kayaks on a ramp for easy access to the lake. I also went up in the garage's attic and brought down summer things, like pots, gardening tools, things like that and put away winter things. 

Around 12:30, Evie took time out from her cleaning to make me some egg, cheese, and tomato sandwiches on brioche buns and heated up a bowl of cauliflower/sweet potato soup. So I was a happy boy, watching my show and enjoying a tasty lunch. After lunch, I cleaned up the kitchen, then read and napped for an hour. When I came downstairs at 2:00, Evie was done with her chores and was watching some TV, and it began to rain on and off the rest of the afternoon.

I was on my computer or reading until 5:00, when we both relaxed for an hour with a glass of wine as a brief rain shower, then sun created another rainbow over Long Point. Earlier, Evie had breaded some eggplant and cooked them in the air fryer. So by 6:30, we had the leftover spaghetti and mushrooms topped with eggplant and tomato sauce for dinner. We enjoyed it while watching another episode of Your Friends And Neighbors. We then watched a couple of home improvement shows before Evie went up to bed and turned to the Warriors/Rockets game, watching the first half before going up to bed.
