Well, most of us got up at 6:30 because the fire alarm went off, a malfunction I assume, It's happened before and is aggravating. I will see if changing all the batteries helps but for now, everything is quiet as we sit here, on our phones with our coffee. It's 8:30 and a few more gals are up but some are still sleeping. I just returned from a half-hour paddle and shot photos of an osprey and a couple of herons so it was a good morning on the lake.

Yesterday was a blur, as we mostly hung out at the house, each doing their thing, including taking turns holding Rhys, the baby. So we were in no hurry to get started and most didn't have breakfast until 10:00. Then,  four wanted to go to the art show at the Chautauqua Institution so I drove them over and dropped them off, picking them up later. Mitch ended up buying a couple of pieces of pottery, their only purchase.

Most of us hung out on the dock, swam to cool off, sat in the yard or on the porch much of the afternoon, Lunch was the leftover moussaka and ziti, as leftovers rock for all of us. A few took naps because it was that kind of Sunday. For once, no one went shopping except for me early morning to pick up a couple of bags of ice for the cooler.

Cousins Again

We had our usual happy hour where everyone seemed to make their specialty drinks, from Manhattans, to Old Fashiolns, to beer, wine, and Jill's lemon drop. Our kitchen counter looks like a bar. We had a few appetizers to hold us off until dinner. By 7:30, we were hungry and the girls warmed up the ribs, chicken and mac n cheese and our dinner was just as good as Saturday night. Having dinner catered by Steeners Pub was a great idea. It was really tasty and we got two meals out of it so that no one had to prep and fuss about dinner.

The Guys

After dinner, we had throwback games as the kids chased pumped-up balloons which shot up in the air and the kids fought to catch them as they expired and fell, a game we played when they were young. We also played Spud until we tired out and before someone got hurt. It then rained some so we either sat on the front porch, in the living room, or played a favorite card game called Telefunky, taught to us by my Mom. A few of us went to bed by 10:15 but the card game was still going on.
