Hoping For Some Snow

Right now, we have some blue skies mixed with gray on a windy 25º day. I didn't kayak, either because it was too windy or because I just was too lazy.  Probably the latter. I  can see also that the lake is beginning to ice over, especially near the shoreline. 

Friday began as usual then took a different turn. I kayaked for a good fifty minutes, despite the cold and wind. I returned home and decided to skip yoga, feeling guilty about it. We relaxed with a long coffee morning and then I got a few things done on Evie's to-do list which I had been putting off. We had been putting off a big shopping day but by 11:00, we were off, first returned the chairs Evie bought from TJ earlier in the week, thank goodness! We then hit Wegmans, me going one way and Evie another, hoping to communicate on not buying duplicates. It didn't work so we have enough toilet paper and Kleenex for the year. We stopped at Evans and now have enough booze for the winter, so we are all set if it snows later today if the weatherman is accurate.

It took us a while to unpack and put everything away but by 1:15, I was enjoying a Danny's Favorite sub from Wegmans along with a bowl of Evie's cabbage and tofu soup. The rest of the afternoon was a waste or a needed afternoon of leisure, depending on how you look at it. My one job was to charge the Kia which took a minute to set up, another minute to take down. 

A Happy Guy: Burger, Fries, and a Beer

We perked up around 5:00 and were off to Alexanders restaurant in Findlay Lake by 6:00. It's a bit of a drive, 18 miles, but they have the best french fries, so Evie's always game to eat there. The tables were full but the bar was empty, good because we had a seat, bad because we had no one to talk with other than the waitress. For us, the fun of going out to bar is to meet someone and it usually happens but not last night. We both had the burgers and fries, huge helpings of fries. I couldn't finish mine, Evie couldn't finish her burger. Next time we will share a burger and get double fries!  Evie's idea. We were home too early, around 7:30 and watched a couple of more episodes of Drops Of God and some HGTV before going up to bed.
