I woke to snow on the car but just a touch on the front lawn. The lake is choppy, winds in the 17 mph range so I may stay in this morning. It's 30ยบ and will stay in the low 30s for most of another gray day. I made the mistake of going kayaking. The wind was in my face, with gusts in the 20s and I literally rode the waves back to shore.

Paddling Into The Deep |
Yesterday was a too much football Sunday. It makes me wonder what we would be doing without it. Our morning, however, was free of it so we felt better about wasting the rest of the day in front of the tube. I got in a good paddle before breakfast and the blog, We decided to take our usual Sunday walk, around the Chautauqua Institution. So by 10:30, we were on our way and walked the entire circumference, close to three miles. The temperature was in the 30s, perfect for walking and we were the only ones out there.

Happy To Be Out Walking |
When we returned home, we finished cleaning up the mess from Saturday night's dinner, then put together a treat, a lemon drizzle cake which was the showpiece on The Great English Baking Show. We followed Paul Hollywood's recipe and let it bake while we had breakfast, a Turkish omelet with tomatoes and feta cheese. Once we were through with breakfast, the football marathon began with me watching the Cleveland Browns play and Evie listening to announcer Jimmy Donovan call the game on the radio. I also read some and briefly napped because we were waiting for the Bills/Chiefs game to go on at 4:30. That game took us until 7:15 and during it, with had appetizers from the previous night, potstickers and hot sour soup, followed by the last of the Singapore noodles, all three still tasty.
We then took a respite from football to watch an ER before the start of the final game of the day, the Eagles vs the Cowboys. We watched the first half and by its end, we finally had enough football and it was late enough to go up to bed to read and sleep. What a wasted day after a fine morning,
