Partly Cloudy, Windy, And 29º

6:47

7:17

7:54

It's 8:00 and I have been up since 6:30, watching the sky change colors off to the southeast as the sun rises. Ice fishermen were out at 6:30 when I woke and two guys just pulled their sleds in, through for the day, perhaps ready to head off to work.

Finished For The Day

Yesterday turned out to be a busy day. It started as usual, coffee, the blog, and breakfast but at 9:00 we had two guys from Love INC at our door, ready to take away our sectional couch. They are sponsored by a group of local churches and gather furniture as well as any household items. They then donate them to those in need. We were happy to add lamps, pots, and pans, even framed posters. When they left, they asked us to pray with them, thanking Jesus, which we did. They were good guys, volunteers in their 60s I would guess. It's nice to know our things are going to someone local who needs them and is not being sold.

Once our TV room was empty, we got buys cleaning and vacuuming it but what took the longest, was cleaning the blinds, something we had not done in quite a while. It took quite a bit of elbow grease to get them done. Once that was done, Evie decided to drive to the Lakewood YMCA and after her workout, pick up a rug cleaner from Petsmart, also in Lakewood.

I stayed home and had lunch, a couple of bratwurst and sauerkraut, leftover over from Sunday night's dinner. I began watching a new series, The Girl From Oslo, but it's not grabbing me so I don't know if I will stick with it. I then read and took a short nap until Evie returned home around 2:30. Evie had done some shopping after picking up the rug cleaner so I helped bring in the stuff. We then spent maybe an hour, spot cleaning the rug before we even started. We then cleaned the rug in both the TV room and the living room. Evie started but it was hurting her back so I took over and did most of the cleaning.  Both rooms look much better as they should. We then packed up the rug cleaner and put it in the car for me to return this morning after yoga.

We then relaxed until 5:30 when Evie air-fried some salmon, roasted sweet potatoes with cheese, and made a salad. Once they were done, we enjoyed a glass of wine and listened to the news, mostly about the terrible earthquake in Southeastern Turkey. It's heartbreaking watching the rescue efforts and so far, 5100 have died.  When it was time to eat, Evie broke the salmon up into pieces over the salad and we had dinner. We watched another episode of Mr. Robot, Jeopardy, and of course, more ER before bed.
