The Gang |
I am up at the usual time, 6:00 and Evie joined me at 6:30. We hoped to get off by 9:00 if not earlier because Evie wants to mow and mulch the leaves before the start of the Buffalo/Kansas City game at 4:30. Snow is forecast for Tuesday...unbelievable.

Walking Daisy And Coco

Yesterday was another striking Autumn day here in Virginia, sunshine with and temperatures in the low 70s. We did not get started early which was fine. By 10:30, however, Jill and Drew went for a long walk, and Evie and I took both dogs for a walk around the neighborhood. We had sandwiches for lunch, then took off to do some shopping at the PX, compliments of Drew, and picked up some libations for the winter and next summer. We ended our outing at Trader Joe's and we both left with bags of goodies for the next month or two. We should have been out hiking or visiting a winery on such a nice day but instead, we shopped. Crazy on a day like this.

Granny And Halle |
We were home by 3:00 in time to watch the Alabama/Tennessee football game. We sat out on their porch and kicked back and enjoyed the game, especially whenever Tennessee scored. We were going out for dinner at 6:00 so all five of us took showers and were looking forward to an evening out. We picked up Drew's Mom and drove a half hour to Warrenton, to a cool street, closed off, so people could eat outside.

Drew, His Mom, Halle, And Jill |
We had reservations at Denim and Pearls a busy place. We sat outside, listening to music for ten minutes, then were seated in their basement, near the second bar. For appetizers, we had a couple of plates of calamari and ordered a bottle of wine, a grapefruit martini for Jill, and an Old Fashion for Drew.

Two More |
Our dinners were great, salmon, tuna, shrimp and grits, and short ribs for me. By the time we were finished, we were too full for dessert so we just drove home, arriving around 9:00, ready for a sweet of course, and bed. We stayed up until late, 10:00 for us, then went to bed.
