It's 7:15 on a bright, sunny 55º morning, and not a boat in sight as the living room is filled with sunshine. It's another fine day to be outside, working in the yard, perhaps going for a hike or bike ride. I:10, both of us are up and I paddled for an hour and fifteen minutes, across to Tom's Point, then to the end of Lakeside Drive and home, a beautiful morning to be out on the lake

Yesterday seemed busy, at least in the morning, with a quick half-hour paddle, then breakfast in Bemus before driving to Lakewood for an hour and fifteen-minute yoga class. I didn't get home until 11:45 and it was already time for lunch. Evie had been busy watering and gardening but made me a BLT to go along with a bowl of corn chowder, yum. I watched my show, then read before falling asleep. I woke to someone ringing our doorbell and it was a guy who I called earlier to talk about the possibility of building a two-car garage in our parking area, making it easier in the winter for us to get in and out of our house without falling on ice. He gave me some good ideas although the cost will be crazy high. Once he left, we relaxed until 3:00 when we drove to the Chautauqua Institution to look at a sectional couch that was for sale on the Grapevine. We liked it enough to buy it but now have the problem of moving our TV to a wall and finding someone to get rid of our old couches and bring the new ones to our house later in the month.

We then did little until 6:00 when I drove to the North Harmony building to talk with Brad Lawson, who is in charge of building permits for the area. He outlined all the hoops I might have to jump through to get a garage built but should start with a survey, then contact an architect to put together a drawing before bringing it before the town board. I can't believe all the restrictions on something as simple as a garage. We should be getting sewers in the next couple of years that might complicate things but the good news is they are looking in bringing water to the residents.
Evie had dinner waiting, pasta with a tomato, sausage, and mushroom sauce, with a salad and rolls, just what I wanted. We watched a gut-wrenching film called Our Friend which we both really liked with Jason Siegel playing the friend, based on a true story. We then watched the final episode of Season Six of Seaside Hotel, as the Nazis invade Poland, making us wonder how it will change the final two seasons.
