Clear skies and Venus greeted me when I woke at 5:50. The sun rose around 6:40, once again filling the living room in light. It's 30ยบ and windy so kayaking is iffy. At times the lake looks doable but then a gust comes and I think differently. I just walked outside to see what it was like and the cold wind in my face was enough to send me inside and forget about a paddle this morning.

Sunday morning was decked in white but by the afternoon, the sky was a cobalt blue, the snow had melted, and the lake was choppy. I did get out in the water yesterday morning but briefly because of the wind and waves. We had our long coffee, reading, writing the blog, and thinking about our plan for the day. We decided on a walk at the Chautauqua Institution before the snow melted. First, we put together a marinade for our Easter dinner, a small, boneless leg of lamb. We then drove to the CI and our walk was surprisingly chilly, especially when the northwesterly wind hit us. Still, it felt good to be outside on a crisp, spring morning. Few people were out, probably in church, celebrating Easter, as the snow melted.

A Snow Covered Thunder Bridge |
We walked for forty five minutes and were home by 12:30, ready for a big breakfast, at least I was. Evie fried up bacon and eggs, toasted a bagel and we were set to enjoy our breakfast and watch CBS Sunday Morning. And that was it for both of us as we had nothing we had to do so we did nothing. I read some, took a good nap, and watched some TV with Evie. At 4:00, I turned on the Celtics/Nets game and watched all of it to the thrilling end.
For dinner, Evie seared and then roasted the leg of lamb as well as a tray of rosemary potatoes. And with a salad, we had a traditional Easter dinner, with enough lamb leftover to make a curry for tonight's dinner. We had the last of the cheesecake with berries for dinner and decided to watch a new series on Netflix called Anatomy Of A Scandal. We liked it enough to watch three episodes before Evie went up to bed and I watched a bit more of the NBA playoffs.
