It's 7:30 and I am listening to a Bill Simmons podcast, tired of reading about what is going on in Ukraine. It's too depressing and infuriating. It's 30ยบ and might get up to the high 30s later in the day and clear up in the evening.
Tuesday was a busy day although it started like most days, with getting up early, coffee, blog, and breakfast. By 9:10, I was dressed and ready to go to a yoga class at Eight Limbs in Lakewood. It's a good class and I have not been to it in a few months. The regulars were there which was nice, all six of us. I was home by 10:45 and by 11:15, we were on our way to an appointment with a cardiologist from the Cleveland Clinic in Ashtabula, an hour and a half away. I have been having some bouts of afib and he's a specialist in it. We really liked him, very thorough and clear, and we had fun talking about his life in Beirut, his education at the American University in Beirut. We had spent a week in Beirut in 1972, so we were able to talk about how much we enjoyed our week in what was then called the Paris of the Middle East. He recommended that I get another ablation so that's what I will probably have done in May, a procedure I had back in 2011. To reward ourselves for a three-hour drive, we were bad and stopped at Mc Donalds for a quarter-pounder meal with large fries and a root beer. It tasted so good.
Just As Sun Is Setting |
We did not get home until 3:30 and were surprised by the sunny afternoon, happy to get back to routine, reading, and napping, and Evie already had dinner made, pork ribs, and sauerkraut. At 5:00, she had a Zoom call with her sisters and we waited until 7:00 for our pork dinner with mashed potatoes since we had a quarter pounder and fries at 2:15. We watched Colbert and Jeopardy and a couple other shows, not finding anything that really grabbed us.
