Dusk In Cleveland |
7:17 PM |
We are sitting in Holiday Inn next to the Cleveland Clinic. Evie received a call yesterday saying that they had an appointment for her this morning at 9:00, We had to decide whether to go for it or not and decided, why not. So here we are, drinking hotel coffee with no view.
So yesterday began as usual, with me up early, enjoying a long early morning, with coffee and writing the blog, Once it was done, I decided to go to yoga because we were not leaving for Cleveland until 2:30. The yoga class was just two of us which was unusual. Once it was over, I was tempted to stop for coffee but just went straight home, I was not very hungry so I heated up ramen and ate it while watching another episode of The Sopranos. I think Ralphie may get whacked, deservedly so. He's a snake.
We left at 2:45 because we had a sad, tragic stop for a funeral in Erie. One of my favorite students, a good friend of both Tom and Jill, died after an extended illness. We were good friends with his parents as well as his siblings. We stayed for about an hour and left just as it was really getting crowded. I don't know how the parents have the strength to get through this.
Siam Cafe |
We had an hour and a half drive to get to Cleveland and decided to try a recommended Asian restaurant called the Siam Cafe. It was a good choice even though the menu was at least ten pages. It was busy, and the dinners were tasty and large, enough to take home for lunch or dinner. We then drove to our hotel, took our bags up to our room and I then went back downstairs and parked our car. No valet parking for some reason. Not much was on TV so we watched a Christmas movie, Die Hard with Bruce Willis until we got fed up with commercials and went to bed to read, then sleep.
