A Miserable Morning On The Lake

7:58

There's nothing pretty about this morning, a sky and lake filled with gray, drizzle, and a chilly 32º and that seems to be the forecast for most of the day. I don't miss kayaking! It's a good thing we have nothing planned other than a quick trip to the store after the visit to the Transfer Station.

Long Point State Park Trails

Yesterday, in contrast to this morning, was a beautiful day, a clear sky, brilliant blue lake, and temperature in the '40s, just right for a hike.  So after breakfast and the blog, we drove over to Long Point State Park and walked it for a couple of miles for the first time since we left for our trip West. It was a bit muddy but other than that, it was a great hike and it felt good to be back in the park.

We were home by noon and Evie had no worry about lunch because I was having pizza with the guys. We got together to say goodbye to the snowbirds who head south after Christmas.   We enjoyed wings as well as pizza in Joe's barn, a cozy place to hang out.   When I got home, for some reason I was really tired and took a good nap until 4:30. waking refreshed, ready for a shower to wake me up.

Dinner At Lakeview

At 6:00, I dropped Evie off at a local gift shop called Timeless Treasures where she was meeting Linda. The store was having a lady's night with wine and appetizers.  I drove to Ron's and we sat around waiting for the gals to return because we were going out to dinner at the Lakeview Restaurant in Mayville. They were back after 7:15 having bought a few goodies, and we were off to the Lakeview by 7:30.  The restaurant was practically empty so we were comfortable eating inside. We had a great waitress, happy and friendly, which made it an enjoyable night for burgers, beer, fries, and fried pickles.  We stayed until 9:00 when we dropped Linda and Ron off at their home and headed back to the home. We watched some NBA basketball and HGTV, before going up to bed.
