Paddling In The Rain

7:18

7:18

8:40

It's still raining now at 8:43, the sky and lake gray.  I was up at 6:20, went out paddling at 7:00 thinking I would miss the rain.  Wrong again. Halfway out, it started to drizzle on and off, enough to soak my shirt and worry about my life vest getting wet. I was out for forty minutes and was the only one on the lake again.

Kayak Morning

A Trio Of Wood Ducks

Yesterday was a good day because Servpro came and picked up their equipment and we bid them aloha, hoping not to see them again. Our floor installer also came over to measure our kitchen and hallways and set up a date to begin installing, Oct. 4.  We then spent some of the morning putting things back in the kitchen, sweeping and vacuuming the kitchen, pulling out nails, making sure the floor was safe to walk on for the next couple of weeks. It was 11:00 by the time we were done and it was so beautiful outside, blue skies, calm lake, I suggested a boat ride.  Within ten minutes, we were cruising up the lake, to Tom's Point, Bemus Point, Long Point, and home, again one of the few boats on the lake.

Dahlia Daze

After the boat ride, Evie cut up and fried some baked potatoes and heated up the leftover barbecued chicken for my lunch and I watched a new show called Press on PBS.  The rest of the afternoon was one of leisure.  It was nice on the dock, warm enough with a light wind, so Evie read out there.  I read some on the couch, napped, and joined Evie after accomplishing a couple of chores.

We planned on another cruise after Evie's zoom call with her sisters but the weather gods said it was going to rain so I ran out as the sky darkened and put the cover on the boat, a sure sign it will not rain.  And it didn't until 8:00 so we could have gone for a cruise. Typical.  Dinner was a taco salad with lots of veggies, salsa, hot sauce, and a sour cream topping. We watched a B- film called Worth, about the disbursement of funds to the victims of 9/11 and all the politics that went into the mix.  It was more interesting than dramatic. We ended the night with a piece of Linda's chocolate cake, yum, and an episode of Prime Suspect, with Helen Mirren.
