In The 50s

7:10

It's 8:20 and I was out on the lake for 50 minutes, on a chilly 52º morning. I had two shirts and a vest on so I was comfortable and there was little if any wind. Evie's up and we are still being serenaded by fans, air cleaners, and dehumidifiers in our crawl space. We are hoping, keeping our fingers crossed, that this may be the last day of this noise.  It's been over a week.

Yesterday turned out to be a good day as the guys were able to tear out half of the kitchen floor, assess there was no damage to the joists and the black mold was in one small spot which they were able to treat or clean.  They worked most of the morning and early afternoon, ripping the flooring out to the subfloor and then setting up another vapor barrier overnight.  They worked hard and were good guys, willing to work with us.  So we made some progress and hope we will be able to use the kitchen after today.

Our Kitchen

As to the rest of the day, I did end going to a yin yoga class which was good because it took my mind off of the kitchen problems for an hour.  After class, I picked up a sub sandwich for lunch and it will be lunch today as well. Once the guys left, around 1:30, I had my lunch and watched my show. Evie was smart and pulled a lawn chair into the sun and spent most of the afternoon in the yard.  I read and napped and joined her until 4:30 when Ron brought over two chicken tetrazzini casseroles Linda made so we would not have to worry about dinner for the next couple of nights. Neither of us wanted to go out to dinner and we couldn't use the kitchen so it was a lifesaver.

We sat on the front porch with libation, isolated from the noise, and enjoyed an hour or more as it began to get almost too cool to sit on the porch.  What a difference from the heat and humidity of last week. Evie heated the casserole up in the oven and made a salad and we had a tasty dinner.  We have reached the bottom of Netflix's barrel and watch a couple episodes of the teen's hot show, Outer Banks. As Evie mentioned, it's like the 21st century Hardy Boys, pretty boys, politically correct and woke. Will they find the treasure or will the bad guys beat them to it.
