Two Inches Of Rain And Overcast Skies

6:12

A First, Fly Fishing On A Paddle Board

It's another quiet morning on the lake, as the rain overnight might have discouraged the boaters and fishermen.  I paddled for an hour, captured photos of both a heron and bald eagle in the same spot as the last time I saw them.

We had a great half of the day on Monday, as the sun held until mid-afternoon.  I got in a paddle, wrote the blog, and had breakfast, my seemingly unbreakable routine the past five months.  We both wanted to get in a walk before it rained so we drove over to Bemus and walked Long Point State Park.  Unfortunately, neither of us had much mojo by the time we got there and it was so hot and humid that we spent our walk wondering how much farther we had to go before we arrived back at the car.  We did it, however, and that made up for our bad attitude.

August Green At Long Point

When we returned, Evie quickly gathered her stuff and went out on the dock to enjoy the afternoon and read her book.  I heated up the last of the soup and made a bagel with cream cheese and tomatoes, quickly becoming my easy, go to lunch.  I watched my show, briefly napped and joined Evie until 4:00 when the sun went down, as threatening clouds moved in.  We both took a swim, to get our mojo back.

A Changing Afternoon Sky

Evie started our dinner, chicken thighs with artichoke hearts and mushrooms, then joined me on the porch to watch it rain, for once a rainfall that was sustained for more than five minutes.  We sat on the porch, enjoying the change in the weather until 6:30 when the chicken was done.  Evie made a salad and we had dinner.  We are still struggling with what series to watch next and started A French Village on Prime Video, about a village during the Nazi occupation.  I cannot say we are taken with it so we may move on to something else.  We seem to be picky these days and don't really know what we want, what we would like.  So we will keep looking.
