A Busy Day

6:30
It's 8:30 and the clouds have arrived, blocking out the sun.  It's chilly, still in the 30's this morning and I was able to get in an hour paddle, on a calm, amazingly smooth lake and the wind picked up just as I dragged my kayak upon its launch, good timing.  Few if any waterfowl of  interest, so no photographs this morning,

A Cloudy Kayak Morning
Some Blue Paddling North
We had a good day yesterday, with lots of sun to accompany our tasks.  After kayaking, Evie put together her Wegman's list, and off we went around 10:30.  We stopped to return our pop and beer cans and dropped off a return for UPS.  We then drove to Home Depot and Evie bought some vegetable seeds for planting and a few other things before our big shopping at Wegman's.  We try to go once a week or more so its a cart full, a bigger bill than usual.  The area around Wegman's, where the Mall and Walmart are located, was extremely busy, probably because no one is working. We stopped at Mike's Nursery to look around and left with ten ivy germanium for pots and flower boxes.

We were home by 1:00, tired but happy to have our shopping behind us. We were excited because Evie's Shutterfly book had arrived, so we immediately set aside the groceries and looked through the book. It is amazing, just look at the spectacular front cover.

We then put things away quickly and lunch was easy because I bought a sub sandwich at Wegman's, which easily last for two lunches, especially with soup.  I then read and napped and Evie went outside to mow the lawns and weed, alternating between both.  I was out to help by 3:00, mowing some although she did most of it and stripping grass, as we are enlarging some of our flowerbeds for more dahlias.  I also used up most of the dirt I brought back yesterday, evening out the flower beds.  While Evie finished up the lawns, having covered 3 miles mowing, I spent twenty minutes watering the areas of new grass.

We were happy to get so much done, so I celebrated with a bloody mary, Evie with seltzer and sour cherry juice.  Around 6:30, I drove off to Greenhurst, to wing night at Steener's Pub and picked up a double order with fries.  We feasted on the medium wings and bleu cheese,  and fries, better than ever, and watched another Home Town before finishing up the final three episodes of Season One of Dead To Me.  The ending to the season made me laugh out loud because it was so ridiculous yet perfect.  We cannot wait to begin Season Two.
