Blue Skies And Sunny

Coffee At Ryders Cup

6:33

6:33
It's a classic summer morning, a cool 60º, calm lake, rising sun on a blue, clear morning.   Why does my weather app Dark Sky suggest it might rain in the next hour?  Now it says no precipitation in the next hour.  I was able to get in a short paddle, photographed an osprey, then drove to Bemus for breakfast.  It's now 9:20 as we finish up the blog

Osprey Waiting For Breakfast
Yesterday was a typical day lately, with sunshine interspersed with rain although most of the afternoon was pleasant.  I kayaked early before driving off to yoga with both Beth and my granddaughter Marisa.  I was surprised how difficult class was, with lots of different asanas as well as breathing exercises but she hung in there and did well.  It was her first class and she seemed to like it. After class, we stopped at her favorite coffee shop, Ryders Cup, and she got another complicated drink before we drove to Wegman's to do our shopping for the rest of the week.  Because we did not browse we were in and out in record time, to both girls amusement.  I am not a browser; buy what's on the list and get out.

Lunch With Marisa And Beth
We then drove to Jamestown to eat lunch at Beth's favorite lunch restaurant, the Labyrinth Press Coffee shop.  We have been there a couple of other visits and we both love its vegetarian fare.  Both of us could be vegetarian if we could always eat there.  It was crowded, and we had to wait in line to order for at least 15 minutes but it was worth it.  Great soups,  corn curry chowder, and Tuscan tomato soup, and a couple of burritos filled with goodies.  And the burritos are so big we all brought home a doggie bag.

We were home by 1:30, to a wet yard, as it had rained hard while we were gone, in fact, we hit a heavy downpour on the highway on our way home but it lasted about a minute.  We didn't do much the rest of the afternoon, just our usual, on our devices, reading or napping.  It did clear up late afternoon so we were to sit on the dock with a glass of wine and some appetizers from 5:00 to 6:00 when we went in to start dinner.  Beth was making one of her favorites, a couple of smaller, organic spatchcocked chickens, roasted on a bed of small red potatoes.  It took just about an hour in the oven and both the chicken and roasted potatoes were great, the chicken tender and juicy, the potatoes crisp on the outside, tender inside.  We relaxed and talked after dinner until it was time for peach/blueberry pie and ice cream.  And we continued with our show, WORKING MOMS, finishing the first season and starting the second before going to bed.  We are becoming creatures of habit.
