More Of The Same...Morning Gray

7:34
I was up at 6:30, walked out to get the paper in the snow, made the coffee and settled in for a couple of hours before I drive off to yoga at 9:40.  The first 30 yards of the lake is frozen, covered with snow, then open making it impossible to get in a paddle.  It's a bit warmer this morning, a toasty 30ยบ as we finally move out of the '20s.

Yesterday's gloom never lifted as it was overcast and foggy most if not all day.  It was, however, a good day to get out of the house. After coffee and the blog, I skipped yoga and by 10:30, I had decided to go for a hike around Long Point State Park.  That left Evie free to go shopping on her own, not having to hurry because I was tagging along.

Snow Covered Trail
So I was off by 11:00 and hiked a much-used trail, a result of the fat tire bikes on Sunday.  I was the only one in the park, braved the heavy winds by the Bath House and was out for over an hour, walking a little less than three miles according to my new iWatch.  Cool beans.  I was able to get a few good photos of Tundra Swans and various ducks.

When I returned home, I made myself two avocado and tomato sandwiches on toast and heated up some of Evie's veggie soup.  And I watched another episode of NARCOS before moving to the living room couch to read and nap.

Evie did not get home until 3:00, the car groaning with stuff from Wegman's, TJ Maxx and Walmart.  We quickly unpacked and put things away. Both of us got a kick out of the Trump/Pelosi/Schumer Show, straight out of Comedy Central or SNL. The highlights were replayed every hour on the various news channels.

We hung out the rest of the afternoon, Evie talking with our daughter Beth while I read and watched the long day wane.  We left to go out to eat at 6:15 and met with Linda and Ron at Steeners Irish Pub.  We were able to get seats at the bar in our usual corner.  All four of us ordered the increasingly popular twenty buck Rib Eye or Delmonico steak and fries dinner for two. The place was hopping so we were lucky to find seats.  The bartender, Serena, is getting to know us, what we order, which is nice.  We ran into a couple of acquaintances from the Viking Club, Jackie and her son Paul and struck up a conversation with Tom, a Vet who we often see sitting alone at Steeners.  Steaks were great and Linda and Ron are good so all is right in the world.  We were home in time to watch the last episode of MY BRILLIANT FRIEND which ended with more angst, the one word that best describes the girls' lives.  We will be looking forward to the next season.
