Another dreary gray morning, with a fog rising off the lake, the once snow-covered lawn now green, the temperatures in the 50's, for the morning. It then drops to single digits by tomorrow morning. Ye, gads, weather, stop playing with us. It's almost 9:00 and we just saw a single fisherman out on the lake, walking past Tom's Point to Bootey Bay. Unbelievable.

Walking On Thin Ice |
Yesterday I actually got out of the house for an hour and went to breakfast. It felt good to be human again and we even planned on going out for dinner, but when push came to shove, we decided we would rather stay in because it was nasty out. But that was later. Our morning went quickly even though we were not that busy, reading some, watching TV, thinking about summer! Not really.
Evie was excited to hit the gym because the Y called to tell her that through her Healthcare she had a free membership for the year. Yippee. So she took off to workout and do some light shopping and came home only to find out that our Sam's Club, where she had been two days ago, had closed for good. Employees arrived there yesterday to closed doors but it reopens today for a week or two with discounted items. In my thinking, we will save money because we won't be tempted to buy things we don't want because they are cheap, which always seems to have happened to either of us when we shopped there. (Editor's note: NOT TRUE)
We were at sixes and sevens as I mentioned about going out to dinner but finally Evie decided she would rather stay home, enjoy a glass of wine, have leftover chicken and mashed potatoes, damn the nasty weather. So that's what we did, had the chicken with Brussel sprouts and salad and watched three more episodes of A Place Called Home. And we are liking this season more than last. And we watched the breaking news, happy to know that we don't live in a 'shithole country' like most people of color.
