Another warm morning, already 73º at 7:00, as the sun struggles to break thought the clouds off to the East. Just now it's busted through the clouds, a hazy orange globe hanging over Bemus Bay, ready to warm up our day.
Yesterday was disgustingly hot, so much so that I rarely ventured out of the house. It reminded me of the first day of school back in the good old days when it always seemed hotter than any other day or week of summer. And locals school around here did start two days ago. Early in the day, I did go to yoga and we worked on back bends, the worst when we sat on our knees up against the wall, then bent backwards, keeping our pelvic against the wall. Try it.
I was home just after 12:00 and Evie was out in the lake, cutting weeds, piling them up on the dock to dry. And she continued with her weeding until 2:30 or 3:00, amazing. I then took her out towels, iPad, iPhone, book and ice water and she sat outside reading, under an umbrella until 5:00. Wimp that I am, I ventured out of the house only to turn the weeds, helping them to dry, and doing some weeding in the shade of our lawn. Around 4:30, I gathered up all my strength, got out the garbage pails and filled them with weeds and took them up the hill, piling weeds on top of weeds which, hopefully, will be good compost next spring.

A Fun Night Out |
Around 6:00, our good friends Linda and Ron, picked us up and we drove down to Jamestown for dinner. We stopped first at Brazil's Craft Beer and Wine Lounge on 4th Street. We like to stop there for a micro beer of our choice and relax in the great atmosphere. We were able to get the last four seats at the bar. We stayed for a single beer, then walked over to our reservations in the bar window seating at Forte. We have been here at least three or four times over the past year, for their beer, steak, potato, bread, and salad special. The waitress asked us if we wanted to hear the specials although she thought we were probably going to order the special which we did. We had a shrimp tempura and coconut sushi roll for an appetizer and it was outstanding. Our steaks, too, were great, so it was a good night out. Forte was not very busy on a Wednesday night, with seats open even at the bar which is unusual. We got home around 9:00, and then watched the Town Hall Meeting with Vets from NYC. It was a joke as far as I was concerned, bringing up Hillary's emails again, taking up a good 15 out of her 30 minutes, and letting Trump bluster on about this and that and never calling him out. I was happy to head upstairs to read.
