Another Picture Book Morning Sky

6:39
7:36
A great morning of pinks and blues, as I was up at 6:20.  It's now 7:10 and I am waiting for the sun to rise over Bemus, in another 10 minutes.  The colors are more pronounced early, lose their flair as we  get closer to the actual sunrise.  It's getting cooler, 43º at the moment, the high today in the 50's.  And behind our house, the moon was in full bloom at 6:30, in the Western sky.
Kayak Morning
Yesterday was an interesting day, cool but sunny.  We began with a kayak paddle on what we thought was a placid lake, in fact, we wanted to get out early before the wind picked up.  So our paddle over to Long Point and the Marina was easy.  The paddle back, however, was a different story as the wind pick up and up and we found ourselves in mid lake struggling against the wind, at times stalled, wondering if we were going to be able to make it back to our home.  We finally made it into protected waters but it took us at least twice as much time to get back.  We have had this happen only once before, when a wind was accompanied by a rain storm, so intense that we actually had to paddle to the nearest shoreline, Wells Bay, and seek shelter.  Around 11:00, I went again to Lakewood, to pick up libations for Rich, my brother in law, as well as goodies at Wegman's and a few other errands.  It has become almost a habit to drive that way each day, either to shop or go to yoga.
Blue Heron on Lookout
Around 1:30, the cable guy stopped by to reconfigure our remote.  Well, an easy job turned into quite a hassle as we could not get the internet TV to work, making it impossible to get on Netflix.  He worked and worked on it, turned things on and off, but we got no where.  So I called Netflix, got a number for Samsung, the maker of our TV, talked with a difficult to understand Asian speaker for about a half hour and viola, we sorted things out.  Amazing.  We both thought there was no solution other than a new TV.

Around 6:00, Linda and Ron, who just returned from their trip to Italy and Germany, picked us up and we went to the Seezurh House, with its new menu.  It was great to see the McClures, and they regaled us with their trip, both the bad, cancelled flights, hours spent in airports sorting out flights, and the good, the wonderful days in Italy and Germany, the good weather, great food, and of course wine and beer.  Their stories both made us want to travel and never take an airplane flight again.  The new menu at the Seezurh was uninspiring, as was our new waitress, as we waited and waited, to order and get our food.  Not a good sign.  Fortuantely, we had a couple of pitchers of beer to keep us happy.  We stayed until about 9:00 when we got home, to watch some TV, The Good Wife which we are becoming disenchanted with, then up to bed to read early, as we were both tired.

Today, a couple of good friends from my teaching days, Mac and DC, are stopping by for two nights, on their way to a Western Reserve Academy soccer game on Saturday.  Both were coaches of the soccer program at Reserve during the 80's and 90's, so it will be a homecoming for both.  Mac lives in Woodstock, VT, DC near New London, NH.  We have stayed with both of them in the past when we have gone East so it's a nice quid pro quo.
