More Clouds, Chilly, and Rain

Fishing

6:00 AM

Up at 6:00 with Evie, breezy already, almost cool enough for a fleece, 61º, with more rain forecast for today, for the next couple of days.  It' been like that the past week, either parts of the morning or afternoon are fine but then we would have rain.  So pick your spots if you want to be outside.  Right now is a good time.

Bass # 1

Yesterday was one of those days, as it rained late morning, so Evie and I went kayaking at  7:30, to make sure we got a paddle in before it rained.  We took what has become our usual route, over to Long Point, along the bay, then across the bay to Sandy Bottom and home.  When we r returned home, another couple of paddlers came by, a husband wife who live next to Sandy Bottom and often are out like us but only in the summer.  I then went to yoga class, crowded with lots of ladies and one other guy.  When we finished up at 10:30, I was surprised to see it was raining, fairly hard in fact.  I stopped for coffee, returned home and Evie had cut the lawn and was potting some of the new plants we bought on Saturday even though it was still drizzling.
Bass # 2

The rest of the afternoon was relaxing, some fishing, some rain, a swim for Evie with the Leonard grandchildren, a trip for me to Topps, and some reading of course, as I am about finished with my third John Sandford crime novel, SILKEN PREY.  To be honest, I don't really know where the afternoon went because neither of us did anything more memorable than fish or swim.  As you can see, however, Evie is getting pretty excited about fishing as she has pulled in a couple of nice bass the last couple of days.  They usually sit under out dock, which is where she caught them.  We are going to have to devote a day to catching enough fish for a dinner, rather than throwing everything we catch back in the lake.  In fact, Evie's out on the dock tossing her line at the moment, and it's 7:00.
My Perch

For dinner, we had leftover spaghetti and meatballs, a beer and appetizers (horseradish cheese and crackers), before dinner, then some TV and to bed to read.
