And We Are Off

6:30
Shadows Of Our Trees on Snowy Lake

A Sunny Afternoon at the Lake
Up at 6:00. bizarre dreams, like we were stuck on our snow mobiles, late to the airport, flying to a  game with my Turkish team, but I could not find my bag and missed the plane.  Good luck with that Freud.  It's 6:00 and we want to be on the road between 7:00 and 7:30.  No great hurry as we gain an hour when we hit Indianapolis, so we usually arrive  at our destination fairly early, around 4:00.  The entire eastern skyline  has an orange glow, a light blue sky above.  It's going to be a beautiful day, clear skies, sun, the real beginning of spring here at the lake.  It's cold, however, 17ยช, surprise.

My only real task yesterday was my final yoga class of winter, with Elise.  A good class because she does both stretch and strengthening types of poses.  We had about five ladies there, all of whom I now know.  This is the class where we hold a deep knee bend against a wall, like sitting on a chair with a block between our knees and we hold it as long as we can.  Of course, I am the best.  Some, unfortunately, hold it for ten seconds.   It is difficult.

The rest of the day was spent getting ready for our trip, readying the house, a very busy day for Evie as she made a couple of batches of cookies as well as packing and spring cleaning the house.  Packing is always difficult, especially if you are going to a couple of different places, with different weather.  Certainly, Kansas City will have spring, in the 50's and 60's, whereas Scottsdale will be in the 80's during the day most likely.  And that's just the beginning.  Do I bring one or two pairs of shorts?  Flip flops or water shoes?  Walking or hiking shoes?  Life is tough when you travel.  My solution to this is to take everything, cramming my bag full of stuff, just in case I need it.  The most important gear...making sure we have our cords for charging our phones, cameras, Ipads, and computers.  We don't want to forget them.

For dinner, we had a great omelet, with all the left over veggies from the refrigerator along with fried potatoes, with hunks of red onions.  Yum.  Eggs are so versatile, so tasty, take on so many other flavors when you cook them.  I could eat them everyday but don't.  Well, it's time to start getting ready for our drive.
