The Girls Make Dot Her First Margarita
Up at 6:45, in our Hampton Inn, just outside of Dayton, after a ten hour drive yesterday, from Lee's Summit to our motel.  It was sunny and cool most of the way, an easy drive though it was supposedly snowing and wet at the lake.  We ended up staying in last night, not going out for dinner, as I picked up a couple of Frisch's Big Boy's, our favorite sandwiches back in the 1950's, before Mc Donald's took over and basically destroyed the chain.  They were good, not as good as we remember.  When we lived in Hawaii, we missed their sauce so much I asked my Mom to bring us a bottle when she came to visit.

We have had a  busy17 days, staying with Tom and family, for Thanksgiving, enjoying the kids.  Then on to Scottsdale, to reconnect with Evie's sisters, Dot, and the cousins.  We stayed in three different places in Scottsdale, meaning three different beds.  It was great to see everyone, to celebrate Edward Petkovsek' life with his progeny.  It is always good to travel, to change vistas for a time, to see knew faces, new places, but as I have said before, it's also good to get home, which we are both looking forward to today. Nothing like Lake Chautauqua; the only thing better, when it's filled with our children and grandchildren.

I have just returned from the breakfast bar, with four cups of coffee, two for Evie, two for me, some eggs with ham, and a glass of juice.  We are in no great hurry today, just hoping to hit the road by 8:00, home around 2:00 or 3:00, with a stop at Trader Joe's in Chagrin Falls, to pick up some goodies and ribs and cole slaw for dinner.  Back to the routine.
