Ed and his Girls, 2009, in Euclid, Ohio

Yesterday, Evie’s father, Edward Petkovsek, died in a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona, surrounded by his West Coast family.

A wonderful father, husband, and grandpa, an amazing father in law, he was the best of the Greatest Generation.

They broke the mold with Fast Eddie.

There will never be another like him.

He will be missed.

PETKOVSEK EDWARD J. PETKOVSEK passed away November 2, 2012, in Scottsdale, AZ, at the age of 93. Born on February 22, 1919, in Cleveland, OH, where he spent the majority of his years. Ed is survived by his wife, of 37 years, Dorothy (nee Fuiek) Petkovsek; daughters, Evelyn Davis (Tom), Jean White, Claire Kartagener (Henry), Elaine Petkovsek (Jim Gill) and Laura Mullen (Patrick); 13 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren, with two more on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 30 years, Hermine (nee Smrdel) Petkovsek, four brothers and four sisters. Ed shared his amazing ability to fix anything with the Lincoln Electric Company, for 40 years, working his way up through the maintenance department, retiring as the assistant superintendent. He was a W.W. II veteran. Ed was loved and will be fondly remembered for his generosity with his talents and time and the ability to put a smile on your face. In celebration of Ed's life a funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m., on Monday, the 12th of November, 2012, at SS Roberts and Williams Church, 367 E. 260th St., Euclid, OH.
