A Schadenfreuden Day (pleasure derived by the misfortunes of others (Fox News)

Evie's Garden
A bright, sunny morning, what a difference from the past week.  The sun is so bright I have to sit in another chair.  It's chilly, too, 27 degrees but what the heck, Obama won!  Breakfast with my friends in Bemus, a start to a good day.

Yesterday, both Evie and I guiltily admit to schadenfreude, one of my favorite AP vocabulary words.  We reveled in watching Fox News, in listening to Karl Rove explain why he was wrong. Or even more fun, listening to Dick Morris, who predicted a Romney landslide and derided the polls as liberal and biased.  Idiots!  DONT' WATCH FOX NEWS---IT'S BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH.  We both wondered about Fox News ratings, on Tuesday night and Wednesday.  They must have gone off the chart after it was announced that Obama had won.  All over the web, people were admitting to turning their dials to Fox News.  What a world.  How we enjoy the misfortune of the others, just Fox News, not are Republican friends, who are no doubt unhappy.

A great day yesterday, to read my biography of LINCOLN, watch Fox News, of course, go for a walk and just enjoy the day, especially the sunshine.  I did drive to the Stedman Coffee shop,  a nice change of pace in my day, to read and surf the web, for about an hour.  Later in the afternoon, Evie put together an African Nut Stew we like, from a Moosewood Cookbook, a vegetarian dish with eggplant, sweet potatoes, other vegetables, spices and peanut butter, which gives it a distinctive taste.  We had it over couscous which we really like and wonder why we don't have it more often as it's so easy to make.

We watched the various pundits explain the elections last night, all seem in awe of Obama's two political gurus David Axelrod and David Plouffe,  who pinpointed the areas where they needed votes, and worked it for a year and a half.  That's how you win an election, I guess, it's all about demographics.  We also watched two more episodes of Parenthood.  Just as we are about to say the heck with it, it has an interesting story or scene, so we watch on.
