Blue berrying
More blue berrying

Lordy, Lordy, I didn't get up till 7:15, waking perhaps around 6:00 but falling back to sleep like a teen ager, or tweenager, like the little girl upstairs.  A huge cloud bank off over Bemus, though the sun is high enough to avoid it, so we have partial sunshine.  It's 66 degrees, and I can feel the dampness in the air (96% humidity) from the southerly breeze coming in the porch window.

Yesterday, a Thursday, I think, as the days blend together, was a combination of sun when we thought it might rain, and rain when we thought it might be sunny.  We did get perhaps a half an inch yesterday, at various times of the day, but we were also able to swim some, fish a bit.  Our big project was to go to Lakewood, pick out a birthday present for Marisa at JoAnn's fabric, a case for her friendship bracelet supplies, and other goodies.  Halley and Hayden also replenished their supplies, then we went off to Wegman's to stock up for the weekend, as Jill and Drew are coming in late tonight, staying till Sunday morning, when they return to Bristow, VA, and that ends our summer with the family.  Evie will have a day and a half to relax, get the house back together, before flying off to Vegas to visit her sister Laura.  I, of course, will stay here, try to hold together the fort, organize and clean, what ever is left  to do from the summer.

We went to the Seezuhr House for dinner last night, wrongly thinking it would be fun.  The kids ordered burgers but were not hungry, seemed bored sitting in a restaurant (I remember that when I was a kid), so we ate quickly, walked over to the Casino park to play on the swings, but they decided they wanted to go home, get cosy, have ice cream cones (they suddenly regained their appetites), and watch the Olympics which we did.  Today looks like a friendship bracelet and reading day, as showers are predicted for most of the day.
