At Seezurh House Porch
Up at 6:45, to the sound of martins when I stepped outside my front door.  None yet at our house for sure, but a number down at our neighbors, the Kinney's, houses.  The lake is amazingly smooth, not a ripple, just shadows from the clouds and trees at the shoreline.  It's 52 degrees and getting warmer, with a high today in the 70's, with some rain later.  It has been fairly dry around here the last month, thus the rain is welcome though we both want to get outside and work in the yard, Evie especially wants to get her garden in order.

Yesterday, we walked the CI in late morning, waiting for the drizzle to stop.  Evie made a pot of one of my favorite soups, Indian cauliflower, and some macaroni and tuna salad, something we have not had in quite a while.  It seems like a summer dish.  The CI was busy with lots of construction, as the crews know they have only 50 days to finish their work.  The flower beds at the CI seem further along than around our house, more trees in bloom, more spring flowers in the garden though it's certainly clear spring has not arrived in full bloom, as most deciduous trees have yet to fill out anywhere around here other than the Bradford Pear and some of the fruit tress, apple and cherry.

We relaxed in the afternoon, Evie working around the house, me reading some and I began working on a photo album of our life in Turkey, European travels, and Hawaii.  It will take me quite a bit of time to put this together but I want to start.

For dinner, we had macaroni salad, a quick an easy dinner, because we were going to the Planning Board Meeting of North Harmony at 7:00.  The hotel project at Bootey Bay has reared its ugly head again and one of the developer's minions was going to give a brief update.  For some reason, I always feel out of place in a meeting like this, like our worlds are so different from those of most residents on North Harmony, at least the full time residents.  There were about 30 people in attendance, all to hear what the speaker had to say.  Basically, the developer wants to put in a 21 home development near the lake, a hotel back away from the lake, on RT 394.  Nothing was specific, all was generalities, so once again nothing will be decided, other than the fact they will go ahead with a more detailed plan.  It seems clear that this area will be developed, either by the present owner, or by some one else.  Coincidentally, we did meet Dr. Parrin for the first time, my father's doctor during most of  his later life, who has a house on the lake in Niets Crest.  My Dad really liked him,  always wanted to drive by his house and see if he was home.  He seemed to remember my father and both he and his wife were quite friendly, inviting us over to see their house any time.  They are in the process of selling their home, for a lot, so said the good doctor, and they are thinking of moving to Laurel Lake Retirement Home in Hudson, Ohio.

After the meeting, we went over to the Seezurh for a beer and plate of fries.  We ran in to Joe Johnson, back from Florida, one of my breakfast club group.  He was sitting with, I assume, his Swedish Lodge buddies.  We got home about 9:00, watched Obama's speech from Kabul, troubling since we will be there until 2024, then watched Smash, and went upstairs to read and bed.
