A Long and Boring Walk
Up around 6:00, to a mostly cloudy sky though off to the east, the sky lightens as the sun struggles to pour its light through the thick layer of clouds.  It's 43 degrees outside, chilly enough in the house that I put on a fleece.  It looks like more rain today, at least the possibility of it, though tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and cool, high of 63, a perfect day for a good hike somewhere.

Yesterday, Evie spent much of the day cleaning the porches, washing windows and getting dinner ready for the Mc Clures, an Indian feast.  I helped some, too!  We finally took down the canvas porch,  and I am always surprised how much it changes our view and the look of our house.  Early in the morning, we went off to Mayville, parked by the train station, and walked Sea Lion Drive.  For some reason, both of us found it boring, perhaps because it basically a straight road though the weather was perfect, as we just barely worked up a sweat.  We walked 3 1/2 miles, a little over an hour.  Not much to look at, though the lake was calm.

The Mc Clures came over around 6:00, Ron in a towel turban, Linda with a red spot on her forward, ready for the Indian fest of tandoori chicken, saan paneer (spicy spinach with paneer cheese), naan and salad, all delicious.  I grilled the chicken, with mango slices, as well.  They are both good and hope to be up the rest of the month.  Linda broke her foot a couple of months ago and is finally able to walk on her own, without crutches.  It still will be awhile before she's able to take a long walk, which both she and Ron love doing.

The story of the day, Obama's coming out in favor of gay marriage, dominates this morning's news, as the pundits try to figure out if this announcement was planned all along (who cares) and whether it will affect the fall presidential election (who knows for sure how tolerant/intolerant the electorate is).  I am already tired of the campaigns and it's not even summer.  Time to lose my self in the hot best seller, Shades of Gray...just kidding!
