Heading In To New York City

Beth and Marisa
I was the first one up here in Darien, pitch black, though no rain fortunately.  Mitch is showering as he has to leave by 7:00 as does Tyler, so things will start perking shortly.  Because Beth was out at a Christmas party with Marisa till 7:00, we did not eat till late, around 7:30 though no one seemed to mind.  Marisa, as usual, was very tired by the time we finished dinner, and wanted to go to bed. Don't you just love a kid who WANTS to go to bed!  She has always been like that.  Tyler and Mitch seem fine, both working hard in school, especially Tyler as he not only has school work but prepares for the SAT's and AP's as well.  He's a busy boy but seems to handle it pretty well.

It rained almost the entire day yesterday but today looks to be a dry, which will be great for us as we head into the city to visit my friend Ates, a teammate from Besiktas, one of the major club teams in Istanbul.  He's had a hip replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery, has been here rehabilitating for a month, and heads back to Istanbul tomorrow with his family.  He was our main host when we were in Istanbul two years ago, a good friend and player.
