Uncomfortably Warm Monday (Hiking Sea Lion Drive)

7:10
Horse Shoe Bend Canal, Mayville

Cottage on Sea Lion Drive

I slept in till 7:00, perhaps because we were up late watching THE GOOD WIFE, then HOMELAND, on the good old tube.  Both have become our favorite shows, so we were up till 11:30 watching them, plus I was into my Jonathan Foer book, EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE, so I was up later reading as well.

We had a great morning yesterday, as it was a beautiful day, and we walked the north end of the lake with Ron and Linda, then went to their house for bloody mary's and breakfast.  Linda made amazing poached eggs, in little pots, with mushrooms, shallots, and brandy on the bottom of the individual pots.  We dipped toasted bread sticks into the pots, yum.  We also had white beans, sausage, and bitter greens.

We just lazed around the rest of the day, a result of the bloody mary's I suppose, then Evie made me lamachuns, Turkish pizzas, for dinner, with ground lamb, tomatoes, and various spices.

Today it's 56 degrees, the highs will be in the 60's, the wind from the south, unusual and uncomfortable, so we will finish whatever we have to do outside.  Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warm as well, then it starts to get colder, perhaps some snow by Thursday.

A good day for a morning hike before it rains, if it does, then curl up with a good book.  Later in the day, Ron and Linda are coming over for dinner as they leave tomorrow for Murraysville.  Evie's making my Dad's favorite dinner, chicken with hominy, sweet potatoes, and green chilis.
