Mild and Gray Day---Enjoy!

Dawn: 7:10

Up at 6:00 to a dark house and yard, as the days gets shorter, the sun rises later each day, as we near the winter solstice, a little over five weeks away.  It's 50 degrees out, unusual for this time a year, when I usual awake to frost on the lawn.  Every day, however, has it's beauty, especially on the lake, which never seems the same.  Today it's quietness, nothing seems to be moving, neither the flag, the lake, the tree branches, the birds, all's quiet and motionless, or so it seems.  Everything, too, is various shades of gray, the sky, the lake, only the tree branches are black against sky.  It's supposed to be mild the rest of the day, perhaps a bit of rain early, then a spot of sun later in the afternoon.  Tonight things are going to change, as it gets colder, more like late fall, early winter.

Yesterday, we got organized, Evie going off to the mall for a final shopping for our trip, getting her hair cut, and I cleaned up around the yard,  getting the garage and yard ready for winter, for our trip to Kansas City.  Always lots to do to get ready for our trip but we seem in good shape.

I took a walk through the woods this morning, up  though Victoria Road and took the picture below from the cliffs at Giarizzo's.  And nice day to walk, lots of gray, but still a good walk, around 53 degrees.

South Woodlawn!
